Move Your Body to Boost Your Energy

At the end of your work-day, do you ever feel sluggish and wonder, "How am I going to make it through the rest of the evening?" I'm a firm believer that movement is one of the biggest energy boosters that we have at our disposal. Often we talk ourselves out of it: "I'm tired. I don't feel like it. I just want to veg out." When you feel that way:

 

Think back to being a kid, when you were able to move your body freely, without worrying who was watching, what they were thinking, and what you had to do next. Maybe you remember the freedom of twirling in an open field. Or dancing on your dad's feet. Or even jumping off a big boulder, with the sensation of wind in your hair. When is the last time that you felt that free?

 

So when you feel that end-of-day, "I've got nothin' left", energy slump, try to tap into that youthful side of yourself and move that body.

DANCE PARTY!

Think of your favorite song or of any kind of music that makes you want to get up and boogie. Then download it to your phone or queue it up on your stereo. Find some private space, plug in your earphones or crank up the volume and boogie like crazy.
 

The trick here is to really give yourself permission to LET GO. You know the old adage, “Dance like nobody’s watching”?

Do it and feel the RUSH of energy surge through your body.
